What are the core values at CPS?
Here at CPS we are dedicated to fostering a love for learning through our underlining guiding principles of Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Acceptance. School and classroom expectations are closely aligned with these values to create an environment that is safe and nurturing for your child.
How much homework should my child have each night?

What can I do at home to help support my child's success at school?
Practicing sight words, reviewing math facts (about 5 minutes per night) and reading with your child are great ways to help ensure your students success at school.
How can I be more actively involved in my child's school?
You can become more actively involved in your child's school in a variety of ways! The PTA (Parent/Teachers Association) is always looking for new members, donations, and volunteers. They meet monthly from 6-7. If you would like to know more about the PTA and how they support our students at CPS please email me at [email protected]. You can also contact your child's homeroom teacher about volunteer opportunities such as speaking to students about your area of expertise, reading to the class, volunteering to help during class parties or other activities (such as game day), sending in a class snack or treat, etc... You can also get involved by reaching out and communicating with your child's teachers often. Parents and teachers working collaboratively about your student's learning is one of the best ways you can become involved and ensure your child's success at school!
What curriculum will my child be participating in?
The state of New Hampshire, along with many other states nationwide, have adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for ELA (reading, writing, speaking and listening) and Mathematics. In third grade your child will be following the Reading Streets curriculum for ELA (which is aligned to CCSS) and Math in Focus (which is also aligned to CCSS) for Math.
What are some online educational resources that I can use to help support my child with their math homework/questions?
You can find a variety of resources within this site both in my blog and the individual subject tabs. If you are looking for a specific resource or have a question about a resource, please contact your child's teacher.
